Why you should use 2FA for ORCID?

ORCID is a platform that allows researchers to create a unique identifier for themselves, making it easier to keep track of their work and collaborate with others. But with so much valuable information stored on the platform, it's important to take steps to protect your account. That's where 2-factor authentication comes in.

Enabling 2FA on your ORCID account adds an extra layer of security to your login process. Instead of just entering your password, you'll also need to enter a code generated by an app like our Authenticator. This means that even if someone manages to steal your password, they won't be able to access your account without the code.

In addition to enabling 2FA, there are other steps you can take to keep your ORCID account secure. Make sure to use a strong, unique password and never share it with anyone. Be wary of phishing scams that try to trick you into giving away your login information. And if you ever suspect that your account has been compromised, contact ORCID support right away.

At our Authenticator, we take security and privacy seriously. We never store your 2FA codes on our servers, and we use industry-standard encryption to protect your data. By using our app to store your ORCID codes, you can rest assured that your information is safe and secure.

So if you're an ORCID user, don't wait any longer to enable 2-factor authentication. It's a simple step that can go a long way in protecting your valuable research data.
