Why you should use 2FA for University of Victoria?

The University of Victoria is a great place to learn and grow, but it's also important to keep your personal information safe. That's why we recommend enabling 2-factor authentication (2FA) on your UVic account.

2FA adds an extra layer of security to your account by requiring a second form of verification in addition to your password. This can be a code sent to your phone or a fingerprint scan, for example. By enabling 2FA, you greatly reduce the risk of someone accessing your account without your permission.

At UVic, they take security seriously and offer 2FA as an option for all students, faculty, and staff. It's easy to set up and can be done through the UVic MyPage portal.

In addition to enabling 2FA, there are other steps you can take to protect your personal information. Make sure to use a strong, unique password for your UVic account and avoid using the same password for multiple accounts. Be cautious of phishing scams and never give out your password or personal information to anyone.

By taking these steps, you can ensure that your personal information remains safe and secure while you focus on your studies and other activities at UVic.
